KALUGIN Company attended the international metallurgical conference in Moscow
On 23rd October KALUGIN’s engineers have participated in the international conference “The Best Available Technologies (BAT) in Blast-Furnace Production” held in Moscow. This conference was organized by Russian Steel Association, International Union of Blastfurnacemen, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Eurasia Metals Magazine.
The conference was attended by Mr. Aleksey Ushakov, Deputy Director of Metallurgy and Materials Department in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Mr. Aleksey Sentyurin, Russian Steel Association‘s Executive Director, Ms. Valentina Chizhikova and Mr. Sergey Myasoedov, NLMK’s Experts and Executives, Mr. Aleksey Tretyak, International Union of Blastfurnacemen’s Chairman, Mr. Vladislav Temnikov, EVRAZ NTMK’s Head of Technical Management Bureau as well as executives of the world’s largest metallurgical companies, lead engineers and experts from Russia, Germany, Great Britain, Netherlands, France and Ukraine.
The participants of the metallurgical conference have made presentations of their advanced technologies and technical solutions developed for blast-furnace operators and talked about implementation of their projects at Russian and foreign iron and steel works.
Mr. Sergey Ivlev, KALUGIN’s Chief Project Engineer, has made a presentation on the innovative design of top combustion stove of Kalugin design. He talked about KALUGIN’s achievements in the field of designing and industrial implementation of the world’s most efficient Kalugin Shaftless Stoves (KSS), described technical solutions that provide stoves with the world’s best environmental performance and improve efficiency of blast-furnace operation.It should be reminded that the main feature of Kalugin Shaftless Stoves is their ability to provide the highest hot blast temperature of 1400 °C, which is approximately 25 % higher than the temperature provided by conventional stoves of other technology suppliers. The unique design of the top combustion stove is characterized by small capital expenditures during construction, highest reliability, environmental friendliness and economic efficiency. Due to the higher hot blast temperature, it is possible to reduce consumption of expensive coke, increase productivity of one blast furnace and entire blast-furnace plant. It is important to note that KALUGIN Company has already constructed over 220 stoves at steel plants all over the world and 20 more stoves are now being designed.
