KALUGIN JSC participated in METEC 2019, the 10th International Metallurgical Trade Fair
METEC 2019, the 10th International Metallurgical Trade Fair was held in June 25-29, 2019 in Dusseldorf, Germany. Representatives of both global and small innovative companies from China, India, Russia, Italy, Turkey, Japan, France, Ukraine working in the iron and steel market demonstrated their products at the trade fair. KALUGIN's exhibit booth enjoyed great popularity. Every day dozens of visitors took interest in the latest achievements and technological capabilities of the company in the field of engineering and implementation of energy efficient Kalugin Shaftless Stoves (KSS) used in blast-furnace production as well as advanced systems of industrial heat waste recovery.
Moreover, this year Andrey Sobolev, Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Federal Republic of Germany, and Ivan Troschenkov, Head of Mines and Heavy Engineering Development Department in the Ministry of Industry and Trade (Minpromtorg) of the Russian Federation, visited the company’s booth which is yet more proof that the Russian government is ready to support export-oriented companies from Russia.
During the trade fair, an industry conference with participation of the world’s leading design engineers and manufacturers of metallurgical equipment and technologies took place. Sergey Ivlev, KALUGIN’s Chief Project Engineer, has made a presentation and told the professional community about KALUGIN’s technical solutions which provide high energy efficiency and environmental friendliness of iron and steel production.
It should be reminded that the outstanding feature of the Kalugin Shaftless Stove is its ability to provide the highest level of the hot blast temperature up to 1400°C that is by 100-150°С higher than parameters of other stove designers and the lowest CO emissions that are 5 times lower than the European standards. It is achieved due to the stove unique design with the burner on top of the dome which burns gas completely before its entrance to the checkerwork without carbon oxide emissions. Thanks to such KSS parameters, it is possible to significantly reduce the coke rate, to increase work output of each blast furnace and metallurgical production in general. As of today, KALUGIN JSC has constructed and put into operation 220 hot blast stoves in Russia, Ukraine, China, Japan, India, Indonesia, Turkey, Syria, Brazil and Czech Republic.
According to Marina Kalugina, General Director of KALUGIN JSC, nowadays all the leading world metal manufacturers pay a lot of attention to high environmental friendliness and energy efficiency of iron and steel production. Our company has advanced technologies which allow us to deal with these challenges. ‘Within five busy days we managed to hold many interesting meetings and negotiations with our partners and potential customers of our products, to discuss current tasks and new promising projects which will allow KALUGIN JSC to enter new markets, increase its share in production of metallurgical equipment’, noted Ms. Kalugina.
METEC International Metallurgical Trade Fair was first held in Dusseldorf in 1979 and since then it has been held once every four years. In 2019 the fair was attended by 72,500 visitors from 118 countries. Together with METEC three more expositions took place: GIFA (International Foundry Trade Fair with Technical Forum), NEWCAST (International Trade Fair for Precision Castings), THERMOPROCESS (International Trade Fair and Symposium for Thermo Process Technology).
