KALUGIN Company has presented its developments in the 8th International Congress on the Science and Technology of Ironmaking – ICSTI 2018
The 8th International Congress on the Science and Technology of Ironmaking – ICSTI 2018 organized by Austrian Society for Metallurgy and Materials (ASMET) and held from 25th to 28th October 2018 in Vienna, Austria was dedicated to research and development in the field of ironmaking technology.
The congress was attended by leading experts from China, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Austria, Italy, Great Britain, Sweden, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Brazil and Australia. More than 300 presentations were made by representatives of leading engineering companies, equipment suppliers, major research and development centers, global metallurgical companies as well as research and educational centers, including Ural Federal University and South Ural State University from Russia.
KALUGIN’s delegation headed by its General Director Ms. Marina Kalugina presented high-technology solutions aimed at improved efficiency of blast-furnace production. In particular, they talked about the innovative design of Kalugin Top Combustion Stove and application results of this advanced technology.
Traditionally, Kalugin’s projects arouse great interest among different participants of the congress. First of all, this interest is supported by the results of Kalugin stoves operation all over the world. Nowadays, 218 Kalugin stoves are already in operation in Russia, China, Ukraine, Japan, India, Indonesia, Turkey, Syria, Brazil and Czech Republic and 34 stoves are being designed and constructed.
According to Ms. Marina Kalugina, engineers and designers are working out solutions which completely satisfy the Customers’ requirements in terms of efficiency, reliability and sustainability improvement achieved solely due to high-quality construction, application of new control systems and use of new materials.
“At this Congress we described in detail the technological solutions used in Kalugin stoves that enable to get unique technical parameters in comparison with the stoves designed by other technology providers. It can be said that only the use of Kalugin stoves makes it possible to achieve a new more efficient level of operation. So far our competitors couldn’t present stove designs comparable in efficiency with Kalugin stoves. An important factor is that the manufacturing cost of our stoves is significantly lower,” pointed Ms. Kalugina.
The Congress has traditionally become an effective site for business negotiations with perspective customers.
International Congress on the Science and Technology of Ironmaking – ICSTI is held once every three years in different countries of the world – in the USA in 2015, in Brazil in 2012, etc.
